So the other day I was in bus 156
and I was alone, plugged in to my phone’s MP3
and I was sorta like staring out of the window
and I suddenly thought of you guys
like “I wonder how they’re doing” and stuff
yea It’s been a looooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg time since I last spoken to any of y’all
I guess we are all really really busy and stressed up somehow

I DON’T MEAN TO SOUND EMO

but anyway, I’m sure we’ll pull through whatever we have to do
and we will meet again and have lotsa fun(:

DARN IT! I SO WANNA PLAY TENNIS REAL BAD :|
<3 Charity

hi guys, how are we all these days? haha. it’s been a looong time since we last met up, huh? well it’s back to school, and i dont know about you guys, but right now im having my common tests…it’s not so bad, actually…i’ve just got one more paper to go, that’s history on friday. yay! cant wait. but even then, when i come to think of it, im not gonna be totally rested and free after my exams- my weekend is fully booked! how awful is that?!? (it’s awful.)

so a little bit about myself, then…i had like math today and it was oh my god the shittest thing on earth (sorry, but it’s true). ironically, it was math which was the subject i was most confident in because i had actually been paying full attention in class and done all my homework diligently, so i really thought i’d get an A. after seeing the first question, though, i was like, “heh…i was kidding when i said that…an A? huh did i say that?” THUS this goes to show that the less you practise and the less you pay attention in class, the better off you will be, because i am seriously expecting an A for the two papers before math. if i dont get one, sue me.

ah im so exceedingly tired. it’s like…on one hand studying for my common tests is really fun because i really like what im studying and all, so it’s a pleasure to do so, but then on the other hand, it’s the stress that’s really killing me and weighing down on my head, you know? so like im more tired from freaking out and being stressed out than the actual studying itself. okay, who identifies with me on this issue? haha. yeah…i cant wait till i actually get a good 8 hours (or more!) of sleep…friday night, oh bless thee.

you know what, im like super annoyed with facebook right now…because like i’ve been on it nearly 24/7 for the past week, and of all days, today when i decide to upload photos it decides to screw up on me! now how annoying is that! murphy’s law always seems to be attracted to me for some reason. gosh. pick out another person for once. okay so facebook is super annoying because like everytime i click on something, the page wont load and instead, i’ll get a “cannot find server”. which means that i’ll have to refresh it before it appears to me. gosh! (this also carries with it the risk of the work i did while uploading being lost)

anyway, in other news, my life’s been pretty boring. how were your holidays? (sorry i think i was supposed to ask you this at the beginning of the post) mine were something quite shitty, but at the same time, i dont regret (not that much, at least) whatever happened, because i think i needed whatever happened to grow and develop myself. so yeah. i think the best day of the entire june hols was this day when i basically hung out with a friend i didnt even intend to hang out with…yeah. but we had some crazy fun, and that was crazy cool, of course. haha.

it’s funny, but this year the june hols didnt even feel like holidays at all. like even though i wasted so much of my time, it was a very guilty sorta thing, like i really ought to be doing something constructive (i.e. studying) even when, hey, it’s the holidays and everybody needs a break. you know what i mean? i mean like hell i didnt even switch on the television! haha. and i didnt go to the library!!! well that was on purpose, actually, because everytime i go to the library i end up coming out with 12 books (im not kidding), no matter how hard i try to refrain myself from doing so, so i thought it was best to just not go at all. although of course now that i come to think of it, i’d might as well have gone anyway…

so yeah! how’re things on your end? sighz. i cant wait for fun. this summer holiday has been no summer holiday at all… ooh! i watched sex and the city!!! go get the soundtrack, it’s really nice =) alternatively, i have the soundtrack, so if you want, you can get the songs off me. lol. hey by the way, i think you guys should go watch you dont mess with the zohan. i saw the ads while waiting for sex and the city to start, and it is HILARIOUS, i tell you, just hilarious. yeah im going out with my mommy on monday to watch it. yay! cant wait for that. my mom’s really weird, though. like in previous years, everytime i asked her to come out with me, she wouldnt, and now that i wanna see it with my friends, she insists on coming. gosh. parents.

hahaha. okay then babes, i shall stop here. look after yourselves, get some fresh air and sunshine and drink lots of lemonade because i like lemonade…and i think there’s this really cool exhibition by this really accomplished french photographer on at the singapore art museum, if anyone wants to check him out. or, you could always check out luke’s photographs here: http://www.jpgmag.com/people/luke2008/page6 he is really good. seriously good.

okay so have fun! and remember me on friday morning while i do my history paper. it’d be nice if you could wish me luck!! (and pray for my A!) haha. love ya guys.

I miss you!

Hello you!

Haha I just want to say that I miss everyone alot! and I was clearing and filing my things, and I found things like

Arabic worksheets, a half-completed health declaration form, the devastating letter from dr hamaad M. Al baadi, my Arabic script for our role play, tonnes of information on singapore economics and demographics

itinerary for malacca, a green book from st francis, brochures and a book from cubic, many application forms from world assembly of youth, Melaka hari ini newspaper

haha, and my nomination form for youth exchange.

Nostalgiiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I really really miss everyone very much D: It’s the holidays and I can’t help remembering Malacca and the pre-saudiarabia days! And I’ve been regularly visiting our blog to see if anyone posted! ):

Sigh, I love you!

Hancock? or maybe Kungfu Panda?

HAHA

both are brilliant anyways(:

alrighty, shall end here!

<3 Charity!

P.S: I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this, please don’t sue me! But the Arabian Women in those pictures are hot(: hahaha.

Saudi Women

Thanks Syed for the post, it sure is an eye-opener! But really, I still think that there is still the feminine charm of shying behind a veil (aka wrapping up).

Not to mention our Emirates stewardess in that ever-elegant bow with a haunting sense of timelessness.

Oh, and just realised that ‘di’ is Diana and not Dileen!

Ok, it’s 1.30am and I can’t sleep! So, pardon my randomness.

-Ying Cong

Not all Arabs are wrapped up like wantons..

It depends on your nationality and religion. Cause Saudi, is ruled by an Islamic government thus the dress codes implemented.

But other countries like Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt etc, they are more westernized and it might be a shock to you that they sometimes dress even more sexier than Singaporeans. Especially the celebrities.

In the pictures from top to bottom: Haifa Wehby, Elissa, Myriam Fares (my favorite singers)

Well I hope I have clear out the misconception and stereotypes Singaporeans have on Arabs. (: And do you know that not all arabs are Muslims. Like for example, Elissa is a Maronite…

ps: i am proud to be a Yemeni descent.

29th May 2008

people! oh my god, it’s 29th may! (thanks dileen for the reminder) hahaha…that plane ride was really good, dont you guys think? ah emirates was such a nice exotic choice…

p.s. but malacca pretty much made up for it :)

concerts and events

hi guys! i was just thinking, like all of us have one event or another that we’d like each other to come for and support, for example, i have an upcoming concert (actually im only emceeing, but it’s at the esplanade, and im excited) on 9th june and then another in december (where im singing :) ), and i know lots of you do too…so do you like kinda wanna create some sort of calendar so we know what’s up and all? it’s a great way to publicize and im sure we’d all like to support one another and just see each other at his/her best.

does anyone have any suggestions or anything? like how to go about doing this and all. haha. yeah. that’s all i wanted to say. lol. love you guys loadz!

di

hi everyone. :)

well. i dont know but i got nothing to do like now so im posting this. just got home after playing tennis with the rest at janel’s house. okay i THINK, or im quite sure i like hit 5 balls out into ‘i-don’t-know-where’- sry janel haha. thing is tennis is like quite hard to play- at least tt’s what i feel. but ACTUALLY it’s quite fun if u can play it well. (actually that’s like ‘duh’ cuz whatever you do if u can do it well it’ll be fun)

but in any case. my point is - i’ve got no real point to make im just trying to say something.

OH YEAH- > you know what. (maybe you’ve heard it already but im saying it again because there’s new developments)

thing is: long long ago, i was supposed to go rmun (raffles model united nations) but then because of saudi i pulled out. then on monday my teacher called and this was how the conversation went.

  • Teacher: “Aaron, this is *** (censored in case my teacher finds out because nowadays there’s such thing as teacher suing student for derogatory comments). you HAVE to go for RMUN. it’s this wed and thurs”
  • Me: “umm.. today is monday? HUH? THIS WED AND THURS?”
  • Teacher: “any problems?”
  • Me: “actually yes. i’ve got ***** (said alot of things)
  • Teacher: “i’ll excuse you from everything”
  • Me: “wait i call you back because i need to check my schedule”
  • 5 minutes later. teacher calls back. i NEVER PICK UP because i couldn’t think of any excuse
  • Eureka i think of a solution (like some problem solving thing): call my mum
  • Me: “hello mummy my this ********* teacher **********” (expletives censored)
  • My mum: “okay tell me the details. what you want me to do”
  • Me: “i sms you her no. you help me tell her we go family holiday”
  • My mum: “sounds good”

After a while right, my mother calls back saying that my teacher sounded so insincere and kept asking WHERE WE WERE GOING then i call the teacher to ensure that everything was fine. so she said “ohhh. ENJOY your trip in so-and-so it’s SUCH a disappointment”. So sarcastic right. but actually she’s like quite a big-shot in school because she decides if you can get this really prestigious scholarship in JC. but then again- she epitomizes the ludicrous and presumptuous behaviour MAN (esp. teachers) can like have. it’s preposterous.

but anyway. WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH YEP???  - > TODAY when i was going to the yep meeting i SAW THEM AT j8- like omg omg. the plus point was that the teacher was not there but then they were like “hey!” i was like “oh-no-toot!” but i tried to tell them not to tell the teachers but i hope those people will have enough cow sense. sigh. haha. THEN it’s like i told my mum when i went home she was like “to think i cut off the phone line to make it seem real- i told u not to go for the meeting my eye was twitching”. and i was about to go “as if i would know” and stuff. then when i told her im going training tmrw in the morning she gave me the “if you insist- actually you should get your priorities right” kind of reply because i need to go for a checkup for my scoliosis problem (which is useless).

anyway. i don’t know. actually got nth to say then somehow i just keep typing.

- period -

aaron

IMPORTANT

firstly, check your emails. secondly, how many of you can actually make it for tennis tomorrow? let’s say if the tennis was from 8.30-9.30pm? would that be alright? okay, do check your emails and do reply a.s.a.p. because the tennis court needs to be booked. thanks!

love,

di
